A door that reverses before closing is almost always a safety-sensor issue — misaligned sensors, a sensor lens blocked by dust or spiderwebs, or a wiring fault. A motor that runs without lifting the door often points to a stripped drive gear inside the unit, a common wear part on openers past the five-to-seven-year mark.
We repair what can reasonably be repaired and tell you plainly when an opener has reached the point where replacement is the better value — usually when the drive unit itself has failed on an older model.
